США
Добавлен 26 дек 2016
Grandpa's place is dedicated to handing down the knowledge of outdoor life. Covering Bushcraft, woodcraft, hunting, tracking, trapping, camping, primitive skills, preparedness, and homesteading. These are the things that were handed down to me from my Father, grandfather, great grandfather, and older scout masters in boy scouts. As well as the things I wish to hand down to the next generation.
So come along and lets learn some of those forgotten skills.

Thank you for sharing with us your Talavera counter. Very helpful and it looks beautiful.
You said who invented the top bar hive??
I’m not good with that kinda of math is there anyway you could just brake it down to inches for me please
Mesument please
It's not a lantern or a 502. You don't do the 1/4 turn with these. The lighting lever does what a 1/4 turn does on a lantern or 502 stove. The lever on a lantern is the cleaning needle. The cleaning needle on these is threaded into the valve spindle. A 1/4 turn won't get the cleaning needle out of the way on these and restricts flow making the air fuel mixture too rich. Opening the valve all the way send more air for a nice balanced mixture. As soon as it lights feel free to add pressure. Pressure is your friend with these. You can't overpressurize them with the built in pump. It was designed to prevent that. They will tell you to pump it up more. You SAID 35 pumps, which is the minimum, but you only pumped it about 20 times. Then light your match and to open the valve ALL THE WAY. Try it. It works. Pressure and full flow atomize the fuel much better for a much cleaner, yellow free start up that's much faster. BTW, the instructions are on the lid in front of you.
Also cut extra for rescue bars, and for replacement bars when you pull honey
I love mush and sometimes my mom fries it up in slices. Slather the slices with butter and it’s sooooo good! Great video. BTW, you came up in my recommendation list. Looks like you hit the algorithm.
Great lesson on knot tying. Thanks also for sharing a bit of history on what they were used for.
How it it working? I bought some tiles but worry they may be too soft for a countertop?
They are still holding up. Ive not had any issues with the tiles.
Very nice ideas, especially the coffee lid trick and the way you secure the top bars. Thanks much, I'll try both.
This is the same as part with shorter intro. Why???
Why are you taking the fat off of it?
The fat has an off taste that most dont like, if your asking why Im saving it, for close to a century it was rendered and used in cosmetics as it softens the skin. I rendered it out, mixed it with beeswax, and use it on leather.
Are you still around man? Also are you still a Linux admin?
is this the same way you do a possum? Do they have stink glands?
you suck at cooking, but no disrespect im old but i like your style and i love mush, fried mush ,grits ,head cheese, fat back, jowl bacon. im from iowa and sorry to say illinois. you are still kool.
i’m making this tomorrow for breakfast
I have never worn gloves to clean small animals, enjoyed the video very much.
I was Interested in what you use the fat for, thanks for the info!
Mixed with melted beeswax in 50/50 or 60/40 it is used to waterproof leather and protect metal from rusting. Ive heard of some use it for chapstick. The remaining cracklins from rendering the fat are used as dog treats and they go nuts for them. :D
Looks good
Where did you get the Cables?
Would the pelt have been undamaged if you would have just pulled harder?..also, re the bile duct/gall bladder, if the raccoons system is like a humans, the gall bladder stores a concentrated form of bile which acts as a detergent to break down fat in the intestines. I can see why your family told ya to wash it off, it's kind of like a detergent. But isn't like a poison or anything.
The pelt was damaged by the racoon itself. It was in a foot trap and managed to wrap the anchor wire around to small trees and rubbed a patch of fur off it's back.
Excellent! Where did you bought your tiles? Thank you.
I remember making these as a scout. I wanted to do these with my son’s troop now and glad I found this. Thanks grandpa.
At last a simple, straight forward instructional on these rigs that I've read so much about in British SAS, SBS, and Commando ops from WW2. Thanks!
A recent 3.5 mile hike with my own SAS belt kit up a local NC mountain trail gave me cause to recall this video and make plans to create at least 1 such rope for my next hike. Better to be prepared.
I grew up eating mush, and so did my kids. So good, and cheap! Thanks for the video!! 😋
How often u have to sharpen your knife?
Considering bile is caustic/acidic, are there any uses for it?
I still have mine from Boy Scouts, that's 40 years ago.
Hey Grandpa, WTF is wrong with you? raccoons are not for food consumption! leave them alone you damn brute!
I have recently had racoon predators in my chicken coop. I want to learn to process them, rather than kill & waste the meat/pelts. I'm new at this, but it's a skill we need to go back to in these uncertain times. Jesus Christ is returning soon, but He will provide for us until then. Bless you!
If you plan on keeping the pelt, you will need to remove the fat from the pelt before drying. Keep the fat, you can render it in a pot. Basically coot it tell all the fat is liquid and you have small fried chunks left. I made soap from the fat and the dogs went nuts for the little fried cracklins that were leftover so I used them as dog treats.
Amen! I'm so looking forward to His return but in the mean time I'm trying to make sure my oil doesn't run out so to speak. As in run out of food, water and supplies.
@@GrandpasPlace that's gonna be one of the the next videos I'll be looking for. How to prepare the pelt as well as ways to cook em. I'm wondering if they have alot of parasites. I did a rabbit a while back and it was full of worms in the meat and fat.
@@nathanhale7444 Amen!
Can't imagine how it taste
Not the garbage panda😭
Very good video.
How come you didn't remove the musk glands?
thanks ❗ made me hungry 😀
My man hillbilly that was a small racoon, and also shoot a racoon with a powerful pellet gun or .22 not a shotgun my brother, use traps also at night, they only go out at night
Jesus dude, stop ordering people around. Wth?
Thanks for info
Would love some new videos whenever you got the time.
That's a cool project. I enjoy things like this. I see you are a man with fine taste in hats.
Thanks!
Thank you, great video and nice pad you have there!
